Spring is finally here in Northern Virginia! Here are some fun family activities in the Reston area to do this Spring:
- Plant something. You can plant something in your own garden! You can also see what's growing in the garden at Frying Pan Farm Park.
- Take a walk around Lake Anne and view the cherry blossoms at the Van Gogh Bridge. Meadowlark Botanical Gardens also has cherry blossoms and many other pretty flowers and trees. They have preschool programs as well.
- Look at beautiful bluebells at Riverbend Park's Bluebell Festival.
- See baby animals at Frying Pan Farm Park's Spring Farm Day.
- Learn about baby animals at Walker Nature Center's preschool program.
- Make a fun craft or spend time with your mama on Mother's Day. You can make her pottery at this event, art at this event or origami at this event.
- Celebrate Earth Day at Springfest or Walker Nature Center.
- Fly a Kite at Lake Fairfax Park.
- Watch a baseball game. Kids Cheer Free at Orioles Stadium this baseball season.
- Eat Ice Cream! Free cone on April 10 at Ben and Jerry's.
- Go to a Farmer's Market and pick out some seasonal produce. You could try Herndon's Farmers Market or Reston's Farmers Market.
- Visit a National Park (free admission on April 21) and have a picnic. Remember 4th graders and their families are always free.
- Go for a hike and meet new friends.
