My son and I had such a great time at THE GLOW's amazing pumpkin trail. There are so many cool pumpkin carvings and creations at this event. We've never seen anything like it before! It is a wonderful kid-friendly event in Reston to experience with your family.
Parking was easy and the event was well-managed. As you walk towards the trail entrance, there are pumpkin carving demonstrations, food trucks and vendors selling light toys. After you enter the trail, a fun display welcomes you with greetings in many languages carved into pumpkins.
Then you get to stroll along and enjoy all the illuminated pumpkin carvings on both sides of the trail. The pumpkin carving artists are very talented and their creations are stunning. We particularly loved the big 16 foot tall dinosaurs and the winter wonderland pumpkin blowing around "snow"! My son had fun trying to catch the snow. We saw professional athletes, political figures, a Ferris Wheel and so many other awesome creations.
You will spot fun animated characters carved in the pumpkins as well. We saw Mickey & Minnie, Kermit & Miss Piggy, Elsa & Anna, and other favorites.
There is another carving demonstration at the end of the trail. There are also four funny animated pumpkins at the end who kept us entertained with jokes.
This event is fun for all ages! There aren't any scary parts of the trail and my young son had a blast. I really recommend taking your family to see this event. We had a great time and feel so fortunate that we were able to experience this unique event right here in Reston! The event is at Lake Fairfax park and you can see it every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night in October. Remember to use code "MACARONIGLOW" for 20% off tickets!
