Our Day at the 2017 Cox Farms Fall Festival

October 1, 2017

We had so much fun at Cox Farms Festival this past weekend!  We saw farm animals, rode down giant slides, sipped fresh cider, listened to a great band, picked some pumpkins and enjoyed some great family time.

As soon as you walk through the entrance, there is a cute photo op area immediately to the left.

My son had fun climbing a giant mountain made of hay bales. We watched a cow being milked and saw cute farm animals.

My son loved all of the giant slides. My husband and I had fun on them too! They have many straw tunnels and play structures for kids to climb on. They have also have a Kiddie Play Zone which is perfect for the littlest family members. Their diaper changing station was very convenient and they also have a phone charging station. There are free apples and apple cider tasting next to the Kiddie Play Zone.  We also enjoyed climbing on the tractors, fire trucks, trains and jeep trucks!

New this year is the Foamhenge. Foamhenge is a full-size replica of Stonehenge made entirely of styrofoam. It was originally created by artist Mark Cline of Enchanted Castle Studio in 2004, and until 2016, it stood in Natural Bridge, VA.  It is very cool looking!

Fall Festival Dates and Hours:

  • Daily:  September 22– October 31, 2017 and November 3-7, 2017 (Pumpkin Madness: November 4-5, 2017)
  • Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (closing at 5:00 PM in November); last admission one hour before closing.

The Fall Festival now has four tiers of admission: Discount, Value, Regular, and Peak. All four tiers include the same attractions, but you’ll pay less on their Discount and Value days, and more on their Peak days. On Discount days (September 25, 26, 27, 28, October 2, 3, 4, 2017), admission is just $6 per person! Value admission (most weekdays, not including Indigenous Peoples Day, plus their first and last weekends of the season) is $10 per person. Regular admission (September 23, 24, 30, October 1, 28, 29) is $15 per person. On their busiest and most popular weekends in October (October 7-9, 14-15, 21-22), Peak admission is $20 per person. These pricing options allow visitors to save by planning their visit on a non-Peak date. If you prefer to avoid crowds and lines, they recommend choosing a non-Peak date to visit.

The admission price is a great bargain considering everything you get with admission. There is so much to do. You could spend the entire day there with your family! We didn't even get a chance to go in the corn maze, take a hay ride or stroll down the Imaginature trail.  We will definitely need to make another visit this year!  The admission price also includes a pumpkin you can pick out yourself as you leave. There is food available for purchase or you can bring your own. They also have a market where you can purchase apple cider, pumpkins, and many other fall items.

I received free admission tickets to Cox Farms Festival but all opinions are my own.
