Great Country Farms (GCF) welcomes the first harvest of the season with its landmark Strawberry Jubilee May 23, 24, 30 & 31.  The coolspring and gradual warming have combined with excellent spring rains to bring on a bumper crop of strawberries for u-pick just in time for the Annual Strawberry Jubilee Festival.

Pre-picked berries will be available in the Farm Market but those that want to pick their own are advised to arrive early (9am) to catch the first wagon rides out to the fields at 9:15am. U-pick will be open on Saturdays of the Jubilee at 9:15am while supplies last which is usually until about 11am.  GCF social media pages (@TheFarmerSays) will be updated throughout the day during picking weekends and guests can sign up for U-Pick alerts via social media to for Sunday availability.

To celebrate the Royal Strawberry,  annual festivities include live music featuring local musicians Wicked Olde on May 23, Mateo Monk on May 24 and back by popular demand, Tony M on May 30 &31.

A whole new crop of youngsters may enter the Diaper Derby each day at 1pm.  This amazing race features babies 7-12 months crawling for the finish line to win fun prizes. Who will gain bragging rights in the year's annual pie eating contest each day at 2pm?  Guests may sign up for each contest when they arrive at the farm.

Little people love to chat and take pictures with the Royal Strawberry Princess who visits from 11am-3pm on festival days. Kids enjoy the freedom of times gone by with hula hoops, bubble blowing and the large, farm-style play areas and animal barnyard featuring new spring baby goats, a foal and piglets.

The Roosteraunt will be serving up Donut Strawberry Shortcake, chocolate dipped Strawberries and hand-dipped strawberry ice cream from Trickling Springs Creamery as well as burgers, hotdogs, and our home recipe Cider BBQ sandwiches with classic coleslaw, Kettle Corn, and baked goods including strawberry pies and strawberry roll.
